Our Rheumatologists

  • Dr Nadil Zeiadin

    Dr Zeiadin completed his medical degree at McGill University and his residency at Queen’s University in 2018. His scope of practice covers the breath of general rheumatology with a focus on inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue disease.

    Dr. Zeiadin also provides musculoskeletal injections for osteoarthritis, tendinitis and bursitis. He has a special interest in ultrasound and its application in both MSK bedside diagnosis and US-guided injections.

    Dr Zeiadin serves as Medical Lead for the Centre of Arthritis Excellence and Director for the Division of Rheumatology at Southlake Regional Health Centre. He is also affiliated with the University of Toronto and is involved in resident teaching.

  • Dr Richard Tse

    Dr Tse completed his medical and rheumatology training at the University of Saskatchewan in 2018. His scope of practice is general rheumatology with a focus on inflammatory arthritis, gout, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.

    He provides both outpatient and inpatient care at Southlake Regional Health Centre.

  • Dr Carter Thorne

    Dr. Thorne completed his rheumatology training in Toronto in 1981 and has been working in Newmarket since that time. He is recognized for his contribution to the field of rheumatology by both the American and Canadian Rheumatology Associations. He is a founding member of the Ontario Rheumatology Association . Dr Thorne serves as the Chair of the Board for the new Centre of Arthritis Excellence. His practice is almost exclusively inflammatory diseases, with a small amount of gout and osteoporosis as well.

  • Dr Salman Anwar

    Dr Anwar completed training in Internal Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and his fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Manitoba. He is excited to return to his hometown of Richmond Hill and be part of the NRC team. He aims to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to our community members.

    He has an interest in nutrition research and the impact of the inflammatory potential of food in the setting of rheumatoid arthritis.

    Outside of work, Dr Anwar enjoys mountain biking, skiing, indoor gardening, computers and technology and spending time with his family.

  • Dr Melissa Holdren

    Dr. Holdren completed her medical degree and rheumatology training at the University of

    Western Ontario. Her scope of practice includes general rheumatology with a focus on inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue diseases.

    Dr. Holdren also has an interest in rheumatoid arthritis research and has been involved in

    research through the Canadian Early Arthritis Cohort.
